Община Сливен напомня на собствениците на домашни кучета, че съгласно Закона за местните данъци и такси и чл. 175 от Закона за ветеринарномедицинската дейност, следва да регистрират своя домашен любимец и да заплатят такса за притежаването му.
На регистрация подлежат всички домашни кучета.
Веднага след придобиване на куче собственикът е длъжен да подаде Декларация по утвърден образец и да заплати такса в дирекция "Местни данъци и такси" на Общината или в кметства и кметски наместничества на съответното населено място. След което получава "Регистрационен талон за притежаване и отглеждане на куче", в отдел "Екология". Таксата е в размер на 20 лева.
От заплащане на такса са освободени, след представяне на документ, собствениците на:

2. служебни кучета в организациите на бюджетна издръжка;
3. кучета, използвани за опитни цели;
4. кучета, използвани от Българския червен кръст;
5. кастрирани кучета;
6. кучета, които придружават или охраняват селскостопански животни, които се отглеждат в регистриран животновъден обект;
7. ловни кучета, собственост на лица, придобили право на лов по реда на Закона за лова и опазване на дивеча;
8. кучета с поставен микрочип, за първата година от неговото ветеринарномедицинско регистриране.
Община Сливен апелира гражданите да бъдат отговорни стопани на своите домашни любимци и да не допускат свободното им движение на обществени места, паркове, градини, детски площадки и на места, обозначени със забранителни знаци.
